Welcome to 240m, Nigeria's premier location-based landmark discovery and rewards platform. This Privacy Policy explains how Latila Consulting ("240m", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects your personal information when you use the 240m mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By downloading and using the 240m app, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1.0. Information We Collect

1.1. Information You Provide

When you register and use 240m, you may provide: Account information: name, email address, username, password, and avatar. Profile information: city of residence, profile preferences, and notification settings. Communication: messages, feedback, or support requests you send to us.

1.2. Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Platform, we automatically collect: Location data: GPS coordinates, cellular tower data, and IP address to verify your physical presence at landmark locations and enable proximity notifications. Device information: device type, operating system, app version, device identifiers, and mobile network information. Usage data: token collections, challenges completed, rewards redeemed, features accessed, session duration, and interaction timestamps. Advertising data: advertisement impressions, clicks, and conversions. Anti-fraud data: movement speed and location patterns used to detect and prevent fraudulent activity.

1.3. Location Data

Location data is central to the 240m experience. We collect your precise GPS location to verify your physical presence within the 50-metre token collection radius, show you nearby token opportunities and landmark information, send proximity-based push notifications about nearby tokens and sponsored locations, and derive insights such as your home area, work area, and frequently visited locations to personalise your experience. Background location access may be used to deliver proximity alerts even when the app is not actively open, subject to your device permissions and notification preferences.

2.0. How We Use Your Information

2.1. Platform operation

We use your information to authenticate your identity and maintain your account, verify token collection eligibility and process point awards, maintain leaderboards, challenges, and your gamification progress, process reward redemptions and deliver vouchers, and detect and prevent fraud, cheating, and abuse of the Platform.

2.2. Personalisation and Notifications

We deliver targeted push notifications based on your location, preferences, and activity; personalise your Explore feed and challenge recommendations; and optimise notification timing and content based on your engagement patterns.

2.3. Advertising

We deliver relevant in-app advertisements from brand partners based on your location, demographics, and behavioural data; track advertisement impressions, clicks, and conversions for sponsor reporting; and attribute physical location visits to advertising campaigns. You may opt out of personalised advertising targeting at any time in your app settings, although you may still see non-personalised advertisements.

2.4. Analytics and Improvement

We analyse platform usage to improve features, content, and user experience; generate aggregated, anonymised insights for internal and sponsor reporting; and monitor platform performance, uptime, and security.

3.0. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

3.1. Brand Partners and Sponsors

We share aggregated, anonymised behavioural and demographic data with brand partners and sponsors to enable campaign targeting and performance reporting. We do not share your personally identifiable information (such as your name or email) with advertisers without your explicit consent. Sponsors receive conversion data (e.g., that a user visited their location or clicked their ad), but not your personal identity.

3.2. Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party service providers who process data on our behalf, including cloud infrastructure and hosting providers, push notification delivery services, payment and voucher fulfilment partners, and analytics and monitoring platforms. All service providers are contractually bound to use your data only for the purposes we specify and in compliance with applicable law.

3.3. Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information where required by law, court order, or government authority, or where necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of 240m, our users, or the public.

3.4. Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to a successor entity, subject to equivalent privacy protections.

4.0. Data Retention.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide the Platform. Usage and analytics data is anonymised after 90 days, removing all personally identifiable information. Upon account deletion, we permanently remove your personal data from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal, audit, or fraud prevention purposes. Audit logs may be retained for a longer period in accordance with applicable compliance requirements.

5.0. Your Rights and Controls.

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and applicable law, you have the following rights:

5.1. Access and Portability

You may request a copy of all personal data we hold about you in a machine-readable format at any time through the app settings or by contacting us.

5.2. Correction

You may update or correct your profile information directly within the app at any time.

5.3. Deletion

You may permanently delete your account and associated data through the app settings. This action is irreversible. See Account Deletion in Section 8 for details.

5.4. Notification Preferences

You have full control over the notifications you receive. You may enable or disable specific notification categories, set quiet hours, adjust proximity trigger radii, and opt out of sponsored notifications entirely from within your app settings.

5.5. Advertising Opt-out

You may opt out of personalised advertising targeting in your app settings. You will continue to receive non-personalised advertisements.

5.6. Leaderboard Privacy

You may choose whether your profile appears on public leaderboards at any time through your privacy settings.

6.0. Security.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including: all communications encrypted using HTTPS with TLS 1.3 protocol; passwords hashed using bcrypt with 12 rounds; authentication tokens that expire and require periodic re-authentication; GPS spoofing detection and velocity-based fraud prevention; machine learning-based anomaly detection for suspicious activity; rate limiting and DDoS protection on all API endpoints; and automated data backups at 6-hour intervals. While we take all reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is entirely free from risk. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to report any suspected security issues to us promptly.

7.0. Children's Privacy.

240m is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8.0. Account Deletion.

To permanently delete your 240m account: open the app and navigate to Settings; select "Delete Account" and follow the confirmation steps. Your account and personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days. Please note that account deletion is irreversible. All points, rewards, challenge progress, and history will be permanently lost. Some anonymised analytics data may be retained for compliance and reporting purposes.

9.0. Third-Party Links and Services.

The Platform may include links to third-party websites or services (such as sponsor websites opened in the in-app browser). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through 240m.

10.0. Changes to This Privacy Policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this document reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
